Can such a light dress really be used by a Dark Winter?
The Dark Winter members of my Hello Season list got an unusual email in June.
I challenge myself to think out of the box for the featured items in the Bespoke Service emails sometimes.
I had picked a light dress for Dark Winter. It is kind of a smoky white with thin black stripes. And the waist tie is detachable, so it can be taken off, or also worn a a scarf as part of the outfit.
I want to be practical. I want to show that if you have an item or two in your closet that doesn't quite fit into the palette of your season, but you love it for several reasons, or need to use it because your budget doesn't allow you to go shopping for a replacement, it's ok.
So I chose a wildly non-dark dress for the Dark Winter, to show that if you wear it with dark tops, and dark accessories, you can make it work for Dark Winter. And here you see some of the combinations I found that might work to darken the overall look of the dress, and to create the contrast level that is essential to all three winter seasons:
The Problem:
You have an item or two in your closet that doesn't quite fit into the palette of your season, but you love it for several reasons, or need to use it because your budget doesn't allow you to go shopping for a replacement.

The Solution:
If you wear it with dark tops, and dark accessories, you can make it work for Dark Winter. If you use a dress as light as this one, you must make sure to combine it with dark, to make the complete outfit dark enough as to convey the essence of Dark Winter.
