The Hesitant Bright Spring

Is it possible to be a hesitant Bright Spring?

Aren't all Bright Springs exuberantly taking to their colourful and bright essence like a duck to water, or, in this case, a parrot to the rainforest?

You know the answer. There are just as many versions of Bright Spring as there are persons who are Bright Spring. And some Bright Springs are looking for ways to use their colours that are a little more subdued.

And why not?

There are so many lovely colours in the Bright Spring palette, and the superpower of any Spring is the ability to wear lots of colours all at once, and still look serenely elegant. But not everyone wants to. Wear lots of colours at once, I mean. Everyone wants to look serenely elegant. And you can.

You might be really happy being a Bright Spring, but a little hesitant to delve into a fully fledged rainforest version of your Season.

If this speaks to you, read on.

Embrace your neutrals

And how lovely those neutrals are. You have jackdaw black (not crow black), light steely grey, titanium, teal-black, cool beige and plain yogurt white, to name a few.

You can pick any of your neutrals and dress solely in those and still be a Bright Spring.

Use your colours in smaller portions

Use your colours! They're your superpower, remember? But if you're colourshy, use them in small sections. A camisole playing peek-a-boo under a jacket or cardigan. The collar of a brightly coloured shirt under a sweater in one of your neutrals. A patterned blouse in soft white and cool beige with some brightly coloured elements as part of the pattern.

Using two neutrals and one of your accent colours is quietly fabulous.

Use your colours in accessories

Accessories is a great area to express personality and your Season's colours. If you keep your lclothes neutral, you can imbue your Season's magic in jewelry, shoes, belts, scarves, and handbags.

Use as many or as few of your colours as you like. Your Spring energy allows you to use an abundance of colours, but how many and how you use them is totally up to you.

Use your colour fan when shopping for neutrals and make sure they harmonise with your Bright Spring essence.

Your Season is the map, you are the landscape

Your Season gives you countless options to express yourself. You can use the neutrals, the colours, and combinations thereof, and you adjust it to fit your temperament and personality.

And just as a map can only be a representation and model of a landscape that you can use to find several directions, your Season is a model of how you have several possibilities to express yourself.

  • Thank you for this reassuring article.
I am a huge fan of neutrals but have always felt that I should try and wear the whole range of colours from my season in my clothing. Now I see that adding touches of the colours in smaller pops and accessories can be very attractive and also help me to stay within my own comfort zone as well as personality. xx
