Tights for Lights

You heard Charlene, the local librarian say in passing that she's read a book about colour analysis and that she's found her colours, and that she shouldn't wear black, but she is keeping her black handbag and black tights are fine because the most important thing is to use your colours up against your face.

Well she got something right.

It is important to keep in mind that a colour that's up against your face can instantly illuminate (or flatten) your appearance.

But what she failed to keep in mind is that in real life, people see all of us, not only an image on Zoom from the chest up. And that's why if you are one of the two Light Seasons, it is so important to keep within your palette in all aspects of your appearance.

And yes, that goes for tights as well as shoes and handbags.

You don't want people to have conversations with your handbag or your knees. You want their attention to be drawn towards your face and your eyes!

You don't believe me? Watch this video, where I've picked some examples to show you, to encourage you to stay away from black, even in items that are not up against your face.

After watching the video, I know that your next question is how to find tights in light colours?

1

Go to your favourite store and ask

If we don't ask, they won't carry them. If you just buy black tights because that's all they have in the store, they've won. If you ask, if you nag, if you demand, the store will consider ordering some tights in other colours next time.

2

Use the "filter by colour" feature

In online stores, there is almost always an option to filter for colour. Use that, and click on the neutral colours (or colour colours, by all means) that correspond with your Season, and see what they have available. If they have nothing, pick another online store.

Shopstyle

shopstyle.com is a search engine that lets you search for items across a multitude of online stores, and in the left menu sidebar there is a myriad of filters you can use to find size, style and - of course - colour.
